GHAZIABAD: A 40-year-old psychiatrist allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday. The woman, identified as Dr Hemika Agrawal, allegedly jumped from her flat in Officers City-2 Society in the Raj Nagar Extension area on Sunday. Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Her family told police that the separation had severely affected her mental health. Assistant commissioner of police (Nandgram) Ziauddin Ahmad said police teams reached the spot shortly after receiving information about the incident and began the necessary legal procedures.
He added that some preliminary details had surfaced during the initial enquiry, but the exact sequence of events and circumstances leading to the death would be determined only after a detailed investigation.
