Lucknow: Step forward to achieve your goals in life with passion, persistence and disciple to break through the restrictions that people impose on you, said Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav while speaking during the unveiling of ‘Stri Samman Samriddhi Yojana’ comprising a slew of schemes for economic and social empowerment of women that will be launched after Samajwadi Party is voted to form the govt in 2027 polls. Talking about the Yojana, Dimple said women in UP would get Rs 40,000 every year and the amount would be increased annually. Giving details of the scheme, party MP from Kairana, Ikra Hasan, said dignity of women was their fundamental right and was an essential part of the social justice so that discrimination and violence against women could be contained.

She said mere lip service would not help achieve women empowerment . “Our commitment is to ensure honour and prosperity reach every women who forms a part of the ‘a adhI abadi ‘ that is an integral part of the PDA,” Dimple said. SP veteran and former MLC Dr Madhu Gupta said the scheme was all about women empowerment which was not limited to social uplift but also promoted economic self-reliance. The term ‘samman’ here refers to woman’s fundamental right to dignity which has been guaranteed by our Constitution,” Dr Gupta said. “When women get respect and honour, it automatically adds to their self-respect and self-confidence which in turn inspires them to take challenges of life head-on,” she said. “Be vocal, be radiant, be powerful, be strong and be successful,” she told women.

Dimple’s statement came in response to a pointed media query but it is being seen in the light of Rahul Gandhi ’s comment backing actor Kriti Sanon after she faced online criticism and trolling over her outfit in a Raksha Bandhan poster. It needs proper action on ground. “The term ‘Stri’ in this scheme is specifically used as it encapsulates all stages of womanhood starting from a girl child to a woman. Machhlishahr MP Priya Saroj talked about education and employment of women to make them independent. SP MLA from Kanpur, Naseem Solanki, and young party functionary from Lucknow, Puja Shukla, were also among those who addressed the gathering.
