Bengaluru: Tension prevailed on KR Road in Basavanagudi Wednesday evening when two groups clashed over alleged communal issues. Trouble began when a group celebrating Eid-e-Milad marched past the office of right-wing activist Puneeth Kerehalli.
Kerehalli, standing at the door of the office with his associates, allegedly stopped the march and sought an explanation for the slogans, resulting in heated arguments and clashes between the two groups. Kerehalli and his associates later organised a lightning protest: They lay down on the main road demanding legal action against the attackers of his associate, Murali , who sustained head injuries in the clash.
