New Delhi: Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested two sympathisers of Gogi gang who, police said, were planning extortion-related crimes.

Cops said Chirag (22), a resident of Narela, and Sagar (26), of Sonipat, were arrested near Munak Canal on Aug 19 following a tip-off. The accused and his accomplice had rammed the victim’s car, attacked the two men with stones and sticks and fled with a gold chain and Rs 40,000. ” During interrogation, police said Chirag disclosed that he was recruited into the syndicate by a Gogi gang supporter, while Sagar joined through another gang member in 2021.

“A .32-bore semi-automatic pistol with four live cartridges, a country-made single-shot pistol and two mobile phones were seized from the accused,” a senior police officer said. “Chirag was also wanted in a Feb case in Narela Industrial Area in which a RO water supplier and his driver were assaulted and robbed. A case under the Arms Act has been registered.
