Gurgaon-based artist Maneesha Sharma presented six-yard textile works inspired by her observations of nature, poetry and everyday experiences
The second edition of Pause, Renderings and Quiet Blooms was held at Travancore Palace from August 14 to 16.
“This universe, the Brahmaand, the panch tatvas, and the beauty there hold us in awe at times, arresting our steps to pause, observe and admire what our eyes see, heart feels, and mind thinks of,” Sharma said. Explaining her approach, Sharma said, “What we observe, what we feel, lingers for a long time and stays. Gurgaon-based artist Maneesha Sharma presented six-yard textile works inspired by her observations of nature, poetry and everyday experiences. The works draw from different aspects of the artist’s life, including floral blooms on her terrace, walks in the Aravalli Hills, visits to a lotus pond and interactions with handloom weavers in West Bengal. At SaiChi our creations are more about feelings, introspection and acceptance.”
