Nvidia has released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction at Gamescom 2026: The wider industry impact

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is out now for all GeForce RTX GPUs

Nvidia has released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, and it is available now for all GeForce RTX GPUs through an Nvidia app update. Nvidia says the model delivers 35 percent more compute capability and processes 20 percent more parameters while holding performance close to the outgoing version. Thirty games support it through the Nvidia app at launch, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Crimson Desert and Portal with RTX. It requires Game Ready Driver 580.88 WHQL or newer. Nvidia cites reduced snow ghosting in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, better laser lighting response in PRAGMATA, and cleaner CRT static in Alan Wake 2.

The second-generation transformer model replaces hand-tuned denoisers with a network trained on Nvidia supercomputers, generating higher quality pixels in the parts of a ray-traced frame where rays were not sampled. Users have to opt into Early Access under Settings and About, then select Recommended or Preset F in the Ray Reconstruction drop-down under DLSS Override. A full release follows in September.
