In a recent update shared with players, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed that voice chat will soon be included directly within game captures. Microsoft’s gaming division is preparing a series of platform updates aimed at two things: Get new players and satisfy its existing gamer base. The company is working on new social capture tools and a long-requested response to PlayStation’s popular Platinum trophy system.
Replying to an X user’s question, “When you gonna solve the Platinum trophy equivalent with Achievements?”, Sharma replied: “Team is working on something for later this year!”, hinting that an official reveal could arrive in the coming months. Additionally, Xbox Insiders are gaining access to revamped achievement viewing options, expanded control over cloud saves, and increased wishlist capacity for digital titles.
The upcoming feature rollouts follow a series of high-profile changes enacted by Sharma since taking leadership. Her tenure has included returning the Xbox brand to its classic green branding, lowering subscription prices for Game Pass following prior hikes, and overseeing significant structural reorganisation across Microsoft’s gaming studios.
