In a statement, Pandalam Palace president Pradeep Kumar Varma and secretary Suresh Varma said the remarks would not be forgiven by the Hindu community or by believers of any faith, and that Ayyappa devotees viewed the comments as an unpardonable act. Such tendencies that defame Hindu beliefs and customs and hurt religious sentiments were extremely alarming and could not be justified, they said. In the complaint, Kuzhikala said Kapicadu’s remark, if actually made, insulted the religious faith and gravely hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees.
Kottayam: Pandalam Palace has strongly condemned activist Sunny M Kapicadu over remarks he allegedly made about Sabarimala deities Lord Ayyappa and Malikappurathamma, describing his comments as blasphemous and unpardonable. They demanded that he perform a full prostration before Lord Ayyappa and seek forgiveness. The palace also demanded that Travancore Devaswom Board and the state govt be ready to initiate strong legal action against Kapicadu. Separately, Thiruvabharana Patha Samrakshana Samithi general secretary Prasad Kuzhikala submitted a formal complaint to Pathanamthitta district police chief against Kapicadu. Kuzhikala urged police to trace the original source of the video or audio, examine its full content, and investigate the circumstances and intent behind the statement. He clarified that the complaint was not driven by personal enmity but was aimed at protecting religious faith and social harmony among Sabarimala pilgrims. Download the TOI App.
