Belagavi’s Cities 2.0 projects may confronts setbacks as the transfer of govt land earmarked

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Belagavi’s Cities 2.0 projects may face setbacks as the transfer of govt land earmarked for a C&D waste processing plant remains pending. State panel seeks immediate transfer of Alatga land as delay stalls key waste management project. Officials fear the delay could impact the rollout of the entire programme unless ownership formalities are completed quickly.

Officials fear that delays in transferring even a single project site could affect the overall implementation of the Cities 2.0 programme. The state-level committee has stressed that identifying land alone is insufficient and that legal ownership and transfer formalities must be completed before work can begin.

The proposed site falls within Yamakanmardi constituency, represented by district minister Satish Jarkiholi . Amid local opposition and pending paperwork, the municipal administration is reportedly seeking the minister’s intervention to resolve the issue and expedite the transfer process.
