22, barely a week after the store celebrated its grand opening on Aug. 15. Their haul included around 60 trading cards, with the stolen collectibles estimated to be worth more than $12,000. The company’s SoHo location in New York City was targeted shortly after its opening in October 2025. The estimated loss was $9,710. Brady became officially involved with CardVault in February 2025, when he acquired a 50% stake in the company alongside co-founders Ed Kane, Randy Greenstein, Chris Costa, Tim Bonito and Scott Heigelmann. A group of prominent investors has backed its expansion plans, with the brand targeting more than 100 locations across the United States while also developing its online and automated retail operations.

Tom Brady’s latest business venture has suffered an unwelcome setback just days after opening its doors. CardVault by Tom Brady’s new Palo Alto store was burglarized early Saturday, with thieves breaking into the California location and taking dozens of valuable trading cards. The incident adds another troubling chapter to the former NFL star’s growing collectibles business. The break-in happened on Aug. The suspects reportedly smashed a window to gain entry before damaging display cases inside the store. The timing makes the incident particularly striking. Brady himself attended the Palo Alto grand opening, marking the launch of the 19th CardVault location and the company’s third store in California. Trading cards can command significant prices, especially when they involve iconic athletes, limited editions or highly sought-after releases. The Palo Alto burglary is not the first security incident involving a CardVault store connected to Brady. In that case, a man allegedly attempted to buy expensive collectibles. His credit card was declined, but he reportedly manipulated the payment terminal without an employee noticing and made it appear that the transaction had been completed. He then left with rare baseball and Pokémon cards. The business subsequently adopted the CardVault by Brady name.
