CHENNAI: Chief minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday congratulated Tamil Nadu Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa for becoming the first Indian to win the Grand Chess Tour title, hailing his “extraordinary talent and unwavering perseverance”. Vijay said Praggnanandhaa had displayed exceptional mental strength and strategic acumen against some of the world’s best players, adding that the feat would inspire youngsters and bring pride to Tamil Nadu and India. “His magnificent triumph not only instils new hope and inspiration among youngsters but also brings immense pride to Tamil Nadu and India,” he said.
