Chief minister C Joseph Vijay and Chennai mayor R Priya
CHENNAI: In her first ever communication to chief minister C Joseph Vijay , Chennai mayor R Priya demanded release of Rs 60 lakh councillor funds for 200 wards. Councillors are entitled for Rs 60 lakh ward development funds, and the mayor is entitled for Rs 4 crore worth special development funds. The mayor wrote the letter on Aug 26 and was yet to get a response from the chief minister.
In her letter to the CM, the mayor said the funds had not been released, and it was affecting civic works in the city.
