The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Ahmedabad: Hitendra Brahmbhatt, 59, who has been struggling with mental health issues, was reunited with his sister after being missing for 25 days. He had left his home in Vastrapur and roamed the streets of the city, prompting searches by both police and family. This emotional reunion took place on the festival of Rakshabandhan, a day traditionally celebrated for sibling bonds.

He went missing on Aug 3 after leaving his home around 10am. His sister, Varshaben Barot, a retired professor at a college in Kadi, approached Vastrapur police on Aug 6 after learning that her brother had not been seen at home. Vastrapur police said he had apparently lost his way while moving around the city.

She frequently visited Brahmbhatt, according to her complaint. Brahmbhatt lives alone and does not use a mobile phone. The family became concerned after his tiffin service provider informed Barot that meals delivered to Brahmbhatt’s home had remained unopened.
