Kolkata: A resident of Rasapunja in Joka was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle on Bakrahat Road in Thakurpukur around Saturday midnight.
In the impact, Ghosh was thrown to the ground amid a drizzle, police said, adding that he suffered multiple injuries despite wearing a helmet. Koushik Ghosh was returning home from work when the vehicle rammed into his bike near the Metro Heights complex.
Earlier on Friday evening, another biker, Amir Sheikh (26), suffered head injuries after an unidentified vehicle hit him on Diamond Harbour Road near the Thakurpukur 3A bus stand around 7.30pm. Sheikh, a resident of Basanti, hit an uneven patch of the road and lost his balance when a vehicle hit him from behind, throwing him off the bike. He was taken to Vidyasagar State General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Sheikh was initially taken to a local nursing home and later, shifted to SSKM Hospital. Download the TOI App.
