Details of Recent Traffic Incident Involving Students and Auto Driver
On August 3, Zaid Madiwala, a student at Anjuman Islam High School, was involved in a traffic accident while riding a scooter with Khalid Hussain Sheikh. According to a complaint lodged by Zaid’s father, Umar Madiwala, the scooter was traveling against the flow of traffic toward Astodia when it collided with an oncoming autorickshaw driven by Moin Sheikh. Following the crash, all three individuals were transported to SVP Hospital for medical attention.
Zaid underwent major surgeries on his neck and leg before being discharged on Aug 14. However, his condition deteriorated sharply at home on Aug 24, and he was declared dead shortly after being readmitted to the hospital. Following Zaid’s account before his death that the scooter was being driven on the wrong side, the K-Division Traffic Police registered a case of rash and negligent driving against Khalid.
