Police have registered a murder case after a 22-year-old woman was found dead at her home

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

New Delhi: Police have registered a murder case after a 22-year-old woman was found dead at her home in outer Delhi’s Prahladpur Bangar village. Her husband and one-year-old son were missing from the house.

Police said they got news of the woman’s death at Shahbad Dairy police station Saturday, following which a police team rushed to the spot. He told police that she had married Lalbabu about two years ago and had been living with him in Prahladpur Bangar. Gulab said he reached the house Saturday and found his sister dead, while her husband and child were not present at the residence. A senior police officer said the exact cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem examination.

Police suspect the role of her husband in the murder. The complainant, Mohammad Gulab, is Sabila’s brother. The woman had multiple injuries.

Police have registered a case under section 103 (murder) of BNS at Shahbad Dairy police station. The body has been shifted to a hospital mortuary. Multiple police teams have been formed to trace the husband and child. Police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and questioning people known to the family as part of the investigation.
