APK scam costs nurse Rs 75,000 — Ahmedabad

The incident took place on Feb 10, according to a complaint lodged with Vastrapur police on Saturday. A sum of Rs 75,000 was subsequently transferred from her bank account to another account without her authorisation. Police have launched an investigation to identify the fraudster.

Police said that shortly after she opened the file, her mobile phone was compromised. The woman had ordered a teddy bear through an online shopping platform and wanted information regarding its refund. she found a mobile number online and contacted it While searching online for the company’s customer care number. The woman became aware of the transaction after receiving an alert from her bank. She immediately informed her family and friends and contacted the cybercrime helpline to report the incident. In her complaint, she stated that she had not shared her OTP, PIN or any other banking credentials with anyone. She later approached Vastrapur police and filed a formal complaint.
