Rowdy-sheeter Sanjeev Kumar , a resident of Janata Colony under the jurisdiction of Bhalki Town police station, has been externed from Bidar district to Koppal district, police said. Police said he was involved in matka gambling, attempted murder and the illegal sale of narcotic pills in Bhalki town, thereby endangering the health of the public, youths and students. Police said he was also involved in incidents in which innocent people were intimidated and attempts were made on their lives. Despite this, he did not desist from his criminal activities and continued his unlawful conduct, undermining the maintenance of peace and law and order in society, police said.
They alleged that he had made matka gambling his primary activity, conducting such operations in villages around Bhalki and defrauding poor daily-wage labourers, farmers and small-scale traders. About four cases have been registered against him. Download the TOI App.
