Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that a new State of Play broadcast will air on September 3 (Thursday), immediately followed by a second State of Play dedicated to Japan. One highlight of September’s showcase will be an extended look at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Beyond those titles, PlayStation Studios is also working on previously announced games including Fairgames, Horizon Hunters Gathering, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, any of which could resurface during Thursday’s broadcasts.
PlayStation is bringing back its State of Play showcase this week for not one, but two livestream events. The events may also offer a preview of PlayStation’s presence at next month’s Tokyo Game Show.
Sony didn’t announce how long this State of Play will run, but the company confirmed that it will feature “updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners.
The latter includes Square Enix, which will show more from “the vast world” of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project. September’s State of Play Japan promises “deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more.” Immediately after this week’s first State of Play showcase, Sony will stream a new episode of State of Play Japan hosted by Yuki Kaji.
