FIR against BEO for harassing shikshamitra, sending obscene messages
Agra : An FIR has been registered against a Block Education Officer (BEO) at Kotwali Nagar police station in Etah after a woman shikshamitra (35) accused him of allegedly harassing her, sending obscene messages and putting pressure on her to stay with him for five days instead of attending an official training programme. The complainant told police that before a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) training programme scheduled from Aug 24, the BEO allegedly instructed her not to attend it and instead put pressure on her to stay with him for five days. She said she informed her husband and subsequently approached Kotwali Nagar police on Aug 29, seeking legal action.
Allegations Against BEO: Inappropriate Conduct and Threats
A woman has filed a complaint against a Block Education Officer (BEO) alleging inappropriate behavior and threats. According to her, the BEO initially promised departmental support but later made unwelcome remarks and behaved improperly.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 5, when the officer offered the woman a ride home from school. During the journey, he allegedly made obscene comments. After she objected to his behavior, he purportedly threatened to have her dismissed from her job.
Furthermore, the woman claims that he continued to send her objectionable messages after the initial incident. She has requested protection for herself and her family, expressing concerns about threats that could affect her children and her career.
A case under section 74 of BNS, pertaining to assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, and section 35(2), relating to criminal intimidation, was registered.
