Pharmacy Council of India vice-president Jashubhai Chaudhary, who was the chief guest at the inauguration, said the PCI was conducting such workshops across the country to ensure that faculty members were familiar with the new syllabus. Faculty members and institutions should make full use of these programmes,” Chaudhary said. He said faculty development was important for ensuring that curriculum changes translated effectively into classroom teaching.
The workshop included detailed discussions and guidance on the revised curriculum, with participating faculty members getting an opportunity to understand the academic changes proposed under the NEP framework. Atmaram Pawar, principal of Poona College of Pharmacy and coordinator of the programme, delivered the welcome address.

Pune recently hosted a national faculty development programme attended by around 300 pharmacy professors from various institutions across the country. The one-day workshop focused on the proposed Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) syllabus for 2026, aligning the curriculum with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Organized by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University’s Poona College of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the event aimed to equip pharmacy educators with the necessary insights into the upcoming curriculum changes. Experts at the workshop discussed strategies for institutions to prepare faculty for effective implementation of the new syllabus.
