Fatal Truck Accident on Pune-Mumbai Expressway
A 48-year-old cleaner, Suresh Chhatru Ram, died early Sunday after a container collided with the truck he was sleeping in on the Pune-Mumbai expressway near Sadawali village in Maval. The impact threw him out through the windshield.
Ram, a resident of Samastipur, Bihar, was traveling with 25-year-old truck driver Shirath Surendra Sahni Kumar at the time of the accident. They were returning to Baramati after delivering goods to the Taloja MIDC in Raigad district.
According to Kumar, the container next to their truck suddenly swerved to the right, striking the left side of their vehicle. The Wadgaon Maval police have registered a case against the container driver for allegedly causing death by negligence, based on Kumar’s complaint.
