Varanasi: Aam Aadmi Party ’s UP in charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday criticised BJP-led state govt and local administration over closure of a govt school in Konia area, alleging that it continues to be listed as operational on govt’s U-DISE portal.
Singh said AAP spokesperson Mukesh Singh had exposed the condition of the school through a video, after which the administration allegedly treated him like a criminal. He claimed Mukesh Singh’s arrest reflected govt’s attempt to hide its failures through authoritarian methods.
Issuing a one-month ultimatum to UP govt, Singh said the Rs 604 crore funds released for school repairs must be visibly spent on the ground. Because of its dilapidated condition, but the work is still not complete, singh also rejected the administration’s claim that the school was shifted and said the building was closed three years ago for repairs.
