Residents say exposed drains, uneven surfaces, debris-filled potholes and dust have made the arterial road increasingly hazardous. Motorists frequently stop to express their frustration over the damaged road. Almost everyone approached expressed willingness to contribute money towards repairing the stretch themselves, reflecting growing frustration over the prolonged wait for proper road repairs. Switching from a two-wheeler to a car has become one way to avoid dust and diversions, but pedestrians and bikers continue to face the daily ordeal. The demand is to level damaged sections until proper asphalting is carried out. The road’s condition has been repeatedly raised with authorities and elected representatives, but complaints are routinely closed without explanation. Taxpayers continue to struggle for basic infrastructure in Bengaluru.
