Mumbai: A 25-year-old man, Gunjan Anil Mishra, died after his motorcycle rammed into the rear of a dumper truck while allegedly trying to overtake it near the Airoli Toll Plaza on the Mulund-Airoli stretch early Wednesday. The accident occurred around 2.15 am on Sept 2 on the southbound carriageway near the bridge coming from Airoli towards Mulund East.

An Uber driver, Vishal Prafulla Thakkar, who witnessed the accident, told police that the motorcyclist was travelling from Airoli towards Mulund when he allegedly overtook a car at high speed.

He fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. Police found the injured rider’s mobile phone at the spot. A man identified as Neeraj, who called the phone, helped police identify Mishra.
