Family files complaint after girl dies, alleges school beating

New Delhi: The family of the 12-year-old girl who died under mysterious circumstances in Aug has filed a police complaint, alleging that the child died after she was scolded and beaten at her govt school in East Vinod Nagar, east Delhi .

The girl died on Aug 27. She was allegedly beaten and scolded on July 22. The Class VII student had epilepsy, police said, adding that no complaint against the teacher was made during the period between the alleged incident and the girl’s death. The girl was a resident of Kalyanpuri and the family filed the complaint at Kalyanpuri police station. An investigation is on to verify the family’s allegations. The child fell ill after that and her condition deteriorated. The teacher, suspected to be at the centre of these allegations, has been transferred. A PCR call was made by the family Monday.
