NHRC begins two-day hearing in G'nagar

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) initiated a two-day ‘Open Hearing and Camp Sitting’ in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. NHRC chairperson Justice V Ramasubramanian, along with two other members, engaged with complainants from various regions of the state. This event aims to address grievances related to human rights violations, providing a platform for individuals to present their cases directly to the commission.

Human rights activist Kantilal Parmar, who was present at the hearing, said he raised the issue of non-allocation of land to members of SC and ST communities. “NHRC asked me to provide specific instances and assured action in this regard,” he said. Top officials from the administration and police officers from various districts were also present as the NHRC heard explanations from state agencies on complaints of human rights violations .
