Hyderabad: A history-sheeter was stabbed to death by two assailants near Pallecheruvu during the early hours of Wednesday. Police suspect that an argument over personal issues while consuming liquor might have led to the fatal assault.
The victim, Khaja Sohail (26), a resident of Mylardevpally, had a history sheet opened against him in 2020. Meanwhile, Task Force police along with law and order cops of Rajendranagar and Shamshabad zones counselled 184 history-sheeters on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sohail was accused in multiple offences including an attempt to murder, theft and a ganja peddling case registered under the NDPS Act, according to police. He collapsed on the spot and died,” said a Mylardevpally police officer. During the argument, the other two accused started assaulting Sohail. “Both of them pulled out knives from their pockets and stabbed Sohail multiple times. History-sheeters were warned that they will face stringent legal action if found involved in criminal activities.
Both the accused were reportedly taken into custody by the police on Wednesday evening from Mylardevpally.
A case was registered under section 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Alerted by the locals, police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy.
