Download the TOI App. BAGALKOTE: Six students suffered minor injuries after a portion of the concrete roof of a government school collapsed while classes were underway at Mugallolli Tanda in Karnataka’s Bagalkote district on Wednesday, officials said.

They have demanded permanent repairs and adequate safety measures to prevent similar incidents. Following the collapse, the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED) was directed to immediately repair the damaged portion of the building. The Deputy Director of the Department of School Education and Literacy also visited the hospital to monitor the condition and treatment of the injured students.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the condition of the school building, with parents saying they had previously flagged its dilapidated state.
