New Delhi: Delhi Police has busted an interstate arms-smuggling racket with the arrest of two men and seizure of six country-made pistols and 10 cartridges.
Bhati had been working in his maternal uncle’s RO water supply business before his father’s death in 2024, said police, adding further investigation is being carried out to identify and apprehend other members of the network.
Police said Nihal was tasked by Bhati with collecting the weapons from Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh. The arrests followed a tip-off about the delivery of an illegal consignment. Acting on the information, police laid a trap and apprehended Honey Nihal from Dhaula Kuan Ring Road. He allegedly transported the consignment to Delhi on two buses. Bhati was arrested the next day after a brief chase in Vasundhara, Uttar Pradesh . Police also seized the sedan he allegedly used to evade arrest.
Nihal earlier worked with his father at an inverter battery repair shop and later spent a few months at a pet shop.
