New Delhi: A 24-year-old undertrial lodged in Delhi’s Mandoli jail died under mysterious circumstances Wednesday night.
Information regarding his admission to GTB Hospital was received at Harsh Vihar police station around 10.13 pm on Sept 2, according to police. Preliminary inquiry revealed that Tarun had been in judicial custody since Aug 29 after he was arrested on the basis of a non-bailable warrant issued by a Karkardooma court. He was wanted in connection with an FIR registered at Welcome police station under Section 33 of the Delhi Excise Act.
The deceased was identified as Tarun, a resident of Balbir Nagar in northeast Delhi. Tarun had been brought to the hospital with a doctor from the jail.
