Hyderabad: Got an old mattress, broken furniture or unwanted wooden articles piling up at home? Residents of Cyberabad can now have such bulky waste collected from their doorstep, with the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) introducing a scheduled collection service every Saturday.
The initiative is aimed at curbing the practice of dumping large household items on roadsides, vacant plots and other public spaces. Residents can use the QR code provided in CMC’s campaign material to schedule a collection by selecting a preferred date and time.
The facility is expected to particularly benefit households replacing furniture, mattresses and other large articles that cannot easily be handed over through the routine door-to-door garbage collection system. The scheduled service is part of efforts to bring waste outside the regular household garbage stream into a more organised collection system.
