On Friday, the three accused were produced before the Belapur JMFC court, which remanded them to police custody till Sept 9.
Inspector Kadam said, “The arrested accused are the lodge managers identified as Hridaykumar Singh and Deepak Ramrakhiani and the waiter Kuleshwar Kumar Singh. The police have arrested two managers of the lodge and a waiter for allegedly supplying women for prostitution to customers by providing them rooms at Kohinoor Palace Lodging and Boarding in Shiravane village, Nerul. After the accused accepted the amount, the decoy customer signalled the police team waiting outside the lodge, following which they raided the premises. At Nerul police station, an FIR was registered against the arrested accused by invoking BNS sections for trafficking of persons and joint criminal liability, along with the POCSO Act, which defines punishment for abetment, such as helping, encouraging or plotting any sexual crime against a child, and the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act.
