Nashik : More than 75 percent of the voters categorised under the absent, shifted, dead, and duplicate (ASDD) list in four assembly constituencies in Nashik city are feared to have moved out permanently, with no chance of tracking them down, according to officers on election duty. Out of 51.04 lakh voters listed prior to the special intensive revision carried out by the Election Commission of India , 10.27 lakh were moved to the special ASDD list after failing to respond to verification appeals or being confirmed as deceased, relocated, or duplicate entries. “Of these 10.27 lakh, 5.51 lakh are from Nashik city alone, comprising the Nashik Central, Nashik West, Nashik East, and Deolali constituencies. duplicates, or shifted voters in the city, over 3.6 lakh names remain completely untraceable,” said a senior officer from Nashik Central While authorities confirmed deaths. Regarding the reasons for the untraceable voters, authorities noted that as an urban center, Nashik sees constant movement of people for employment. Officials also noted their inability to locate people whose residences underwent redevelopment. “We could track only a few who moved within the same locality on a rental basis or relocated to Pune or Mumbai. However, the majority remained untraceable,” an officer from the Nashik West assembly constituency stated. “The rolls are open for claims and objections, meaning any citizen missing from the draft roll can approach the election office or a booth level officer.
