Laxmi Jaiswal, who was posted at Phoolbehar community health centre, allegedly convinced a 27-year-old pregnant woman to deliver her child at her residence for Rs 10,000. Pilibhit : A case has been registered against a staff nurse of a govt medical facility in Kheri district on Friday night for the death of a newborn due to alleged negligence.
On Aug 31, she contacted ASHA worker, Neelam Devi , for an institutional delivery under the state’s health and medical incentive programme.
After she was kept waiting at the facility, Mohini was moved to Laxmi’s house for “a safe and normal delivery”. He alleged that Laxmi’s “carelessness and flawed procedures” resulted in the newborn’s death. Mohini Devi of Shrinagar village started experiencing labour pain while her husband, Ashok Kumar Tiwari, was away for work.
Tiwari filed the complaint on Friday after his return from Lucknow.
