Bengaluru : The CID Saturday conducted a raid and mahazar at a resort in Devanahalli in connection with the alleged KPSC veterinary officers’ examination scam. Investigators suspect that some candidates who secured top marks were trained at the resort using a question paper allegedly leaked ahead of the examination.

A senior CID officer confirmed that investigators found evidence that some candidates linked to the scam were trained there.

Candidates who allegedly paid bribes were taken to the resort and trained for nearly a week using the question paper, which was allegedly leaked before the exam, according to sources. Meanwhile, CID officials have examined the bank accounts of suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar and Basavaraj Kannale, suspected to be a key figure in the scam. Investigators have reportedly found financial transactions between the two.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had earlier raided the same premises as part of its probe. Reports that the duo were questioned together on Saturday were dismissed by senior CID officers as rumours.
