The domestic breeding checkers are going to be regularly active across the city even during the off-season,” he said, adding that they expect a spike in cases during the summer and are conducting inspections to identify hotspots for mosquito breeding pre-emptively. “So far, we identified around 80 spots around the city where mosquito breeding could be a major issue, and these are being regularly monitored as well,” he said. “This year, the corporation is cracking down even harder on mosquito-borne diseases. The hired mosquito control workers also conduct door-to-door inspections, visiting homes, raising awareness, clearing out stagnant water, and spraying mosquito repellent to curb the issue across the city.
