Accused Salman in white hoodie carrying machete
Angered by the registration of FIRs, the accused, Salman , 28, who works in Dubai and is a brother of the man accused of stealing the bike, came to Bengaluru and targeted Pasha on Saturday around 9 pm. Bengaluru : A man who had stepped in to settle a family dispute was attacked with a machete in full public view in Shabarinagar, under the jurisdiction of Kothanur police station, Saturday night. The incident took place around 9pm, with the entire attack captured on CCTV cameras. Syed Iliyas Pasha had intervened and tried to pacify both sides. However, the dispute continued even after his intervention, eventually leading to complaints and counter-complaints being filed at Kothanur police station in Aug. Salman attacked him with a machete, leaving him with a serious injury to his abdomen, and escaped.
A dispute had earlier broken out between the families of a brother and sister during a function, following a bike theft case registered at Sampigehalli police station, and the bike was recovered by police.

A senior officer said, “Salman is at large. Pasha was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. We suspect that he has taken a flight to Dubai on the same night, and efforts are on to nab him. Download the TOI App.
