Kanpur: District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh directed the chief medical officer to replace the entire staff of the Community Health Centre, Patara, following complaints of inadequate facilities and delays in treating people injured in the house collapse incident.
Singh announced a financial assistance of Rs 16 lakh for the family, besides assistance for house construction under the applicable rules.
He said, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief and conveyed condolences to the family. Singh also constituted a three-member inquiry committee chaired by Ghatampur sub-divisional magistrate, with deputy CMO and ACP Ghatampur as members.

He then went to the hospital and enquired about Kajal ’s health where he was told that her condition was stable. The committee will examine medical facilities at the centre, the presence of doctors and other personnel on duty at the time, and allegations of negligence in treatment. Strict action will be taken against those concerned if negligence is established. Meanwhile, the DM visited the collapse site and met the grief-struck family. The DM assured the family of proper treatment and all possible assistance from the administration. Singh urged residents to avoid dilapidated or damaged buildings, report unsafe structures to the local administration and remain at a safe place until weather conditions normalised.
