Stephen Curry complains about being underpaid as he advocates for players getting equity in the team

A few months ago, the NBA con Stephen Curry made an appearance on a podcast where he said, “That’s a big deal because, you know, it is a partnership with ownership. Because you DON’T participate in the business management of the team, you don’t own equity. Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ star player, has lived a life of luxury with his wife, Ayeshqa Curry, and their four children. Ahead of the new season, Stephen Curry sparked outrage with his comments on how NBA players should be paid more. It’s a partnership with the league, and we’re on the short term of that revenue, right? The four time NBA champion weighed in on how players should have equity in the team they are playing in as he added, “Like those numbers sound crazy, but what the league is doing — from whatever era you want to compare it to now — is probably, you know, 10x that. A third fan posted, “@StephenCurry30 nah but you are wrong tho. A player having equity in a team is a total conflict of interest. The league is like the union, and you sign up to play in the league, not a team. Also, your wealth is generated from being the athlete. Don’t get greedy. Be grateful. Another fan noted, “I mean its crazy listening to a multi-hundred millionaire complaining that they cannot be billionaires. Literally no one restrict you from doing business on the side or investing your multi millions. How is this even a conversation.”
