Kolkata: “Enough is enough,” Calcutta High Court observed on Monday regarding the “nature of complaints” being filed against Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee since May 4 and extended the interim protection from coercive action in three FIRs till Nov 30. “Expired medicines (allegedly used in these camps) were seized by the drug controller,” the AAG argued. “Why did he not blow the whistle a year ago?” the judge asked. “If any kind of camp is established, permission is required from the authority; no permission was granted,” the AAG said, adding, “As police, our role is to investigate. Who was behind organising these camps, how he is directly connected, these are things which need to be looked into and can be disclosed before the court after a thorough enquiry,” Justice Bhattacharyya told the AAG.
The court warned of giving blanket protection to Banerjee if the same continued. To this, the judge asked, “Was it prescribed by Banerjee? Several other persons are waiting to come before court as they have been looted by this person. Students of medicine have been used. These are super-powerful men. The judge remarked: “Everybody knows who is super-powerful nowadays. “You have to directly connect the petitioner.
