Kolhapur : The police are investigating two separate incidents — an assault on MSEDCL employees in Rukadi and an attack on Right to Information activist Ashok Khade in Hupari, Kolhapur district.
In the Rukadi case, a complaint was filed by MSEDCL junior engineer Ashraf Mulla, leading to a case being registered at Hatkanagale police station against four men — all residents of Vardhaman Nagar in Rukadi. There the team was allegedly abused, assaulted and pushed, and their official work was obstructed. The police have registered the matter as obstruction of govt duty. A case was registered with Hupari police station. Hupari police are examining CCTV footage to identify the attackers and investigating the motive.
In the second incident, four unidentified assailants on two motorcycles allegedly attacked Khade with wooden sticks while he was taking his usual evening walk on Karadga Road on Sunday evening.
