The TMC was approached for land, and has identified a small plot, which is being processed for finalisation, according to veterinary officials. “The NTKMA has decided to build a Darshan Path and pilgrim complex near the temple, for which it requires the land where the veterinary hospital currently stands. The veterinary centre, located close to the Trimbakeshwar temple, caters to farmers and animal rearers from several surrounding villages, including Trimbak-Talegaon, Sapgaon, Pegalwadi, and Pimpalad. “Moving out of the town will cause significant inconvenience to animal owners. Since the temporary facility will be situated towards the Nashik side, it will add to the travel distance for beneficiaries coming from remote parts of the taluka,” Dr Mehere added. NTKMA officials stated they are ready to construct a new facility, once a suitable land parcel is handed over by the animal husbandry department. The animal husbandry department officials have been directed to coordinate with the Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council (TMC) for land allotment. However, a senior municipal official noted that the identified plot is presently encroached upon. Nashik : After the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), the Taluka Veterinary Hospital in Trimbakeshwar now faces a space crunch in the town, due to infrastructure expansion for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela. The Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has decided to demolish the existing veterinary hospital structure to clear land for a proposed pilgrim corridor, the ‘Darshan Path. However, with no suitable site currently available within Trimbakeshwar, officials are shifting the facility several kilometres away to Anjaneri. This development has triggered concerns among local livestock owners, following the planned relocation of the town’s sub-district hospital, that will be moved outside Trimbakeshwar after the Shravan month.
