Hyderabad: To create awareness on breast cancer, Sudha Reddy Foundation (SRF) and MEIL Foundation on Monday announced the third edition of Pink Power Run, an international half marathon and community fitness initiative.
To be held on Sept 27 at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, the run expects over 20,000 participants and will feature a ₹75 lakh prize pool, with awards for more than 100 winners. The event will include an Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)-certified 21.1-km half marathon, along with 10-km, 5-km and 3-km race categories. For every 100 km collectively completed, SRF will sponsor one free breast cancer screening and mammogram test.
SRF has also joined hands with AIG Hospitals for the “Miles for Mammograms” programme that will convert the cumulative distance covered by participants into medical diagnostic support for underprivileged patients.

The upgraded format and substantial prize purse are expected to attract leading distance runners and international athletes, said Sudha Reddy, founder, Sudha Reddy Foundation. She said the initiative is aimed at promoting fitness, preventive healthcare and early action, while raising breast cancer awareness. Breast oncosurgeon Dr Pragnya Chigurupati said Telangana records the country’s highest incidence of breast cancer and stressed the need for screening, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.
