In the U-15 boys’ final, Ahmedabad’s fourth seed Ansh Khamar produced a clinical 3-0 performance against third seed Dhruv Bhambhani of Kutch. In a thrilling U-13 boys’ final, second seed Rehansh Singhvi of Kutch survived a seesaw battle against fourth seed Daksh Jethva of Surat, fighting back from 0-2 down to win the contest 3-2. The 10-year-old completed his double, adding the U-11 boys’ crown with a facile 3-1 win over Surat’s Panav Kella. In the U-13 girls’ final, top seed Dhimahi Kabrawala of Surat swept aside Ahmedabad’s Zinali Patel 3-0. Surat’s Prisha Parekh made it a home triumph in the U-11 girls’ category, beating Kutch’s third seed Yaana Singh 3-0. In the U-9 category, top seed Sayansh Christi of Ahmedabad cruised past second seed Aahaan Goyal of Surat 3-1 to win the boys’ title, while Ahmedabad’s top seed Suhani Handa crushed second seed Divisha Hingorani of Kutch 3-0 to take the girls’ title.

The 23-year-old Filzah, seeded sixth, outplayed Ahmedabad’s fourth seed Mouboni Chatterjee 4-1 in the women’s summit clash to bring home her first title of the season. Pratha, however, didn’t leave Surat empty-handed as the top seed overcame second seed Riya Jayswal of Bhavnagar 4-2 to claim the U-19 girls’ title. Daniya reigns supreme in U-17 and U-15 categories: Another Surti who shone on the home turf was Daniya as she completed her double crown by winning the U-17 and U-15 girls’ titles. In the U-17 final, second seed Daniya overcame the eighth seed and her citymate Vincy Tanna 3-0. Vincy had earlier provided the shock of the event, knocking out top seed Charmy Trivedi 3-1 in an early round. Both the Surat paddlers met again in the U-15 final, with top seed Daniya once again emerging on top, beating sixth seed Vincy 3-0.

Ahmedabad : Surat paddler Filzahfatema Kadri put up a magnificent show on her home turf to pocket the women’s crown, while another city girl Daniya Godil and Kutch’s Rehansh Singhvi emerged as the stars of the age-group finals, winning twin crowns at the 5th Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament. Her victory also brought to a halt Ahmedabad’s Pratha Pawar’s successful run in the women’s category. Organised by the Table Tennis Association of Surat District under the aegis of the Gujarat State Table Tennis Association, the tournament concluded on Sunday.
