Jal Shakti minister orders post-monsoon repair of pipeline-dug rural: The wider industry impact

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Lucknow: After extensive road digging across rural Uttar Pradesh to lay water pipelines, the state will launch a large-scale road repair campaign from the beginning of Oct to restore damaged stretches once the monsoon ends. The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired on Monday by Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh.

Singh said roads in several areas remain dug up due to ongoing rural water supply works, and monsoon rains have worsened commuting conditions for residents. He directed officials to begin refilling, levelling and restoring such roads from Oct to ease public movement while ensuring drinking water projects continue towards completion.
