Hyderabad: The kitchen budget is feeling the pinch as prices of several vegetables, including carrots and beans, have risen in recent weeks, adding to the pressure caused by soaring onion prices.
Beans, for instance, are now retailing at around Rs 65 a kg, up from about Rs 50 last month. Tomato prices have dropped to around Rs 15 a kg from Rs 20–25 a kg. Carrot prices too have moved up, vendors said. Vendors at Rythu Bazaars said prices continue to fluctuate depending on arrivals, availability and supplies from producing regions.
