The woman procured the ganja from Odisha and sold it in the city with the help of her son and an acquaintance
Karumbukadai police have identified the arrested as A Mubeena, 47, and her son Mohammed Ziaudeen, 24, of Saramedu in Karumbukadai, and B Shakul Hameed, 46, of Tirupur. During the search, police found Mubeena and Shakul Hameed with 10kg ganja, ₹19,500 in cash and a two-wheeler. Further inquiry revealed the involvement of Ziaudeen, resulting in his arrest. “Investigation revealed that Mubeena procured the ganja from Odisha and sold it in the city with the help of Shakul Hameed.
Ziaudeen also helped her in selling cannabis and maintaining the cash transactions in his bank account,” said an officer. Police arrested them and began investigating. All three were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
He added that Mubeena has previously been involved in peddling ganja and was even arrested. Coimbatore: Three people including a woman and her son, were arrested on Monday, for peddling ganja in the city. They were apprehended when police searched a vacant land near Jalagandeswaran temple near Puttuvikki road in the city on Monday evening, following a tip-off.
