Prayagraj : Two criminals, including a history-sheeter carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh and wanted under the Gangsters Act, were injured and arrested along with three of their accomplices in a police encounter near Dhobi in Pattishah village under the limits of Hathgaon police station in Fatehpur district early Tuesday, police said.
Police Arrest Multiple Suspects and Seize Weapons
Police apprehended three suspects—Shankar Sahu (22) from Pattishah, Rehan alias Chhotu (35) from Bakarganj, and Hanif (38) from Piranpur—after a brief pursuit. During the operation, authorities recovered a cache of weapons and materials, including two country-made 0.315-bore pistols, two live rounds, two motorcycles, an iron chopper, two knives, a square wooden block, a yellow tarpaulin sheet, three ropes, a packet of black plastic polythene, and a live bovine animal, all found near the scene.
Riyaz, one of the suspects, has a significant criminal history, with over 33 cases registered against him across various police stations in Fatehpur and other districts. Israr, another suspect, has more than 15 cases filed against him throughout Uttar Pradesh.
