Delhi Traffic Police has released advisory for all commuters
Rehearsals have triggered restrictions on several stretches, with the real test running from Sept 11 to Sept 13. With 35 roads controlled and 72 diversions planned, traffic snarls could be affected. 35+ roads will have restrictions and traffic may be diverted at short notice: Mathura Road Janpath Ashoka Road Shanti Path Kartavya Path C-Hexagon Teen Murti Marg Satya Marg Prithviraj Road Tughlaq Road Panchsheel Marg Africa Avenue Sardar Patel Marg APJ Abdul Kalam Road Safdarjung Road Vijay Chowk Niti Marg Neela Gumbad Neela Gumbad Mother Teresa Crescent Teen Murti Marg Brig Hoshiar Singh Marg Teen Murti Marg Akbar Road Dr Zakir Hussain Marg Rajaji Road Akbar Road Kasturba Marg Bhagwan Dass Road Kemal Ataturk Marg Purana Quila Road Follow traffic police signs and take the suggested alternative routes. 22 diversion points include: Janpath Patel Chowk Kartavya Path Matka Kulia Moti Bagh Lodhi Road Neela Gumbad Oberoi Flyover Bhairon Road Mandi House JANPATH / CP Not allowed: Towards C-Hex or from Outer Circle CP Turn to Outer Circle towards all other roads except KG Marg Dhaula Kuan Connaught Place → Sardar Patel Marg Take Ring Road or Vande Mataram Marg and NH-48 Take the Metro if possible If you must drive, leave early and check the route first.
